Grindrod acquired 50% in Cockett in 2005, and increased its holding to 100% in 2008 before selling 50% to Vitol in 2012.

For their year-end results of 2023, Grindrod achieved growth of 29% in its core operations compared to 2022, with revenue of US$264 million and profit of US$57.9 million. Notably, Ports and Terminals earnings grew 35% on the previous year due to strong volume performance.
